im sorry ms jackson
theres one thing ive noticed with almost everybody who is self-taught in any kind of field and thats that we have no idea how to structure our learning paths so we end up starting from some mid-way point and almost completely ignore the fundamentals cause we start considering the tools and the process as more important than they actually are.
ive only started to realize how ass-backwards ive gotten everything and nearly three years after starting design im almost stuck doing damage control for my idiocy but even in this status im in theres so much to learn and so much to do.
the one best thing ive found in this is the beauty and purity found in the basic geometrical shapes the circle the triangle the rectangle and so forth theyre so simple yet so effective at being instilled with meaning that im now convinced one can solve half the design challenges put forward by just using these shapes or a combination of them.
out of all of them i find the most beautiful of shapes to be the square four sides equal length four equal angles its just perfect these days i look for squares in everything and i find them everywhere and everytime im faced with something to design i try and first look at how the square could help me and so far it hasnt failed in at the very least providing clues to what needs to be done.
i wish i wouldve paid more attention in maths class.
