coming back from work today i had this urge to pop in to the shop and buy something didnt know what or why i just felt like it the joys of being an adult right looking through the aisles wandering around not liking anything this is too sweet this is too salty this is just no before i saw this beautiful red and white thing sticking out of the pile.

i havent had a kinder egg since i was six back when my dad used to get them from some vendor down the road for whom he would do small-time freelance stuff—sometimes i think he worked for the guy just for the free eggs for me and my sister it was a different kinda time—and i just loved them to bits back then collecting the small toys they came with like hippo people and dwarves and all kinda of neat stuff.

one day though the supply chain crashed and the dealer disappeared after news reports were claiming a host of kids my age got some bad stomach bugs from the stuff and it really pissed off seven-year old me because i didnt give a damn about the chocolate i just wanted my goddamn hippo people.

the one i got today had a purple alien and stickers in it.
